This could be any small town tucked away anywhere in the U.S….but it happens to be the small, sandy town where I grew up. Today this small, dilapidated one room building still stands, vacant, used, forlorn….At one time it was a grocery store, ran by Ms. Queenie Pearl who sold and sometimes gave away food and necessities to towns people who needed them. Ms. Queenie shut up shop sometimes in the sixties, her great-grandson helped empty the place of her items. Time moved on, some progress here there, some deterioration also. For a few minutes, I stopped by the grocery shop with Queenie’s great grandson, and shared a memory of another time in the same little place. Read all about Milville, Texas my book: Dancing with the Sandman on Amazon.com. Peace everyone.
