Way back before the
pretty girls fled
leaving that bland country
like a silk blouse
ripping in the wind
those scattered threads
long thrashed by
the echoes of time
We never knew
those pretty girls
would come to
be unrecognizable
impaled on that
stage of life
burnt by shadowed dread
crafted into submission
left hollow inside
becomming statistics
dark testament
to a universal truth
and neither
truth or beauty
calls this place home now
those windswept plains
scream emptiness since
the pretty girls left

Yay!
A great achievement in Art .
Thank you so much!
Now this is a poem I actually got, and as TM comments, it is sad. The silhouette image is very emotive… thank you.
Thank you so much. I do tend to run the gauntlet of emotions.
Strong words! Loved it.
Thank you..and special thanks for reading!
It was a pleasure!
You have written a unique story in quick, concise words. You spread a forlorn and lost feeling across it like a swath of somber feelings. Fantastic writing and you are so original, Lana!
Thanks Robin, I do experiment quite a bit, ha ha 🙂
haunting poem. it makes me sad for the pretty girls and for the rest of the folks in that windswept, tragic country.
Yeah sometimes I run the full range of emotions, but I do a lot of humor also 🙂
