Between the moss
and the sun’s misty rays
a majestic explosion of
enormous woody trees
the vibrancy of life’s core
secrets strewn with leaves
made from green and glory
primeval roots race deep
into the center of earth’s sacred past
embrace those twining branches
bending to whisper your name
a lift from sadness
from the modern madness
those flowers wild
tame for a moment with your gaze
and breath the air
of cedar pure
and listen quietly
to the ancient story.
Very beautiful.
Thank you so much!
Very lovely!
Thanks Holly, and also thanks for the visit !
Always a pleasure!
Bella! Ciao😊
Grazie mille! Thank you so much 😀
Pretty cool. *settles in to listen to the ancient story*
Thanks Professor!
Makes me long for a stroll through the arboretum near my house! Lovely 🙂
Thanks Anita. I rather like the thought of visiting an arboretum right now 🙂
Me too! I should slip my sneakers on and go, ha ha! 😉
Love how the sun’s rays stream down through the trees — beautifully written!
Thank you, Debbie for the gracious comment. I hope you have a wonderful weekend 🙂
Beautifully written. Nature is such a powerful force, pure and healing. ‘the vibrancy of life’s core’ – so true!
Thanks Annika. I love being outside although there are no forests in my area. I am lucky enough to have several trees in my yard 🙂
i enjoy the mood you create in the poem which reflects the experience of a walk in the woods.
Thank you so much. I had been reading Robert Frost that day so it was terrific inspiration.
you’re welcome! frost is certainly a master. but i would also like to refer you to a contemporary welsh poet on wordpress who writes wonderful descriptions of his native country. i am a follower of his site, which can be found at —

Great! I’ll check it out. .thanks 🙂
Lana, the tall, solemn trees absorb the nervous energy and calm our souls while mending our hearts. This was beautiful and a blessing. Thank you! <3
Robin, I was thinking of the serenity of a deep green forest that day. Thank you so much, I’m so glad you enjoyed it.
Kindness flows from you, unstoppably. (I made up the word, lol)
You’re allowed to make up works too! No one can say that your words are wrong if you make them up. You’re your own dictionary!!!
Powerful.
Thank you so much for the compliment, and for reading and following my blog!
I can even misspell “words,” and make it “works,” as can clearly be seen. So, you have my permission make up any word/work that you desire!!!! I’ve got your back!!!!!!! lol
I do make some up occasionally:)
You go girl!!!
great read
Simply beautiful
Thank for visiting
See you on the other side of creativity
As always Sheldon
Thank you for the wonderful compliment. The other side of creativity sounds wonderful 🙂
