Night’s Reign

A fairy tale parcel

an invitation

to be unfolded

as the silvery shadows

of evening deepen

draping us in

the lustrous purple robes

of mystery and romance

the stars are but charms

in the sky

shimmering ornaments

they are

the bracelets of queens

sparkling in deep, velvety

darkness

the capture of beauty and

enchantment

as it is etched

into the sweet darkness

in the sky

praying for 1000 nights

1000 chances

to reach the heavens

as the night remains

uncorked

and dangling….

  1. Exquisite, Lana. Just beautiful. I loved the lines: “the stars are but charms/ in the sky/ shimmering ornaments/ they are/ the bracelets of queens.”
Divine in every sense of the word.

  2. purple robes, mystery and romance, velvety darkness and bracelets of queens – the words are sweet and wonderful Lana. I loved your poem of beautiful words.
