The Man from the Land of the Sun

SF 079/a>
Out of the cold, arid darkness you came
A man from the Land of the Sun
and took my hand…
In the black, bottomless darkness
murky ocean of fathomless disasters
The man from the Land of the Sun
brought light
Plunging headlong
in cold, bitter darkness
in a morning of frozen air
blinded by freezing rain
we cheated a very possible end
The times were lean
and the clouds were heavy
but the man from the Land of the Sun
brought light and love to me
I venture out now
and face a sometimes bitter and blind world
made better now
when the man from the Land of the Sun
bestowed secrets upon me
bearing the meaning of life
shiny, priceless trinkets,
and placed them in my care
