My poem, Delirious, appearing on Wildsound. I’ve never had anyone else read my poetry aloud, so I was rather surprised that it sounded okay. It’s just another avenue to publish your work if anyone is interested….
Delirious – Poetry Reading by L T Garvin
Published inpoetry
I like hearing poetry read – as long as it is read well. I especially like hearing poets read their own work – it gives added impetus to the work I think. And I like that poem! Have you ever considered adding an oral reading to your poetry posts?
I was thinking of videotaping and reading my posts on my Youtube channel….I keep struggling with the setup, though. Right now, I just have my book trailer on there with 8 whole views, ha ha!
Interesting! Thanks for the tip!
Very welcome π
Very good!
Thank you, Poetpas. It is a little different having someone else speak your words π
Oh I thought it was you but then again I don’t know what you look like lol. Well written and told tho π
Thank you, ha ha… She’s what you call a poetry reader…or maybe an actor π
Ah ok. I’ll try to ask George Clooney to do mine π
I was going to ask Michelle Pfeiffer to do the next one, ha ha….
Haha lol.π
Very good idea for poems to be read.
It is, I think, and something different to do….
Yes definitely
Excellent!
Thanks so much, Paul π
Very good and you must be happy with the reading LT.
I used to write verses for work colleagues if they were retiring/leaving and such like and foolishly allowed a supervisor to read one out during a particular leaving do… They absolutely murdered it! I always managed to conquer my nerves after that and read my efforts out myself. I’m more than capable of ruining my own stuff without anyone helping me.
Oh I’ll bet that’s right, ha ha. I’ve never let anyone else read my stuff so I’m sure that can happen. I guess the Wildsound people are pros, I was pretty happy. She probably did better than I could have, ha ha.
Lana, your poem sounded great and what an new avenue for poets to get their work out ‘there’! Well done for submitting – a very positive experience.
Thanks Annika. I thought it might be a neat thing to do, and also think they do a good job. It’s a good site where others might like to share their work.
That was cool! I listened to it twice. I agree with Paul that it would be even better to hear you read it π
Thanks Diana, I thought it might be a site that others would like to check out to publicize their work. I’ve thought about adding my poetry to my booming Youtube channel with 8 whole views, ha ha. I think some of your beautiful writing would sound nice on Wildsound π
It is intriguing and I think some of your followers will take you up on it. You might post some of your Youtube readings on your blog (?). I’d watch them π
I only have my one book trailer on there right now, but may consider it. I’m glad to know you would watch, I’m sure I would be quite entertaining, ha ha.
I think some poetry needs to be read aloud, and who better than the author to read it!
Thanks for informing us of this — I’d never heard of this website before. How cool to hear your words recited aloud by someone else!
It was a bit different, Debbie, but I liked it. I don’t know if it would be as good with my southern accent if I did it, ha ha. This might be something that other writers might like to do, so I wanted to let everyone know about it.
I, for one, would be delighted to hear your southern accent reading it! (My own accent would knock me out of the reading, too, I’m afraid!)
Oh I think we are always more critical of ourselves than anyone else is…I remember one time having to record a class I was teaching….I just hated listening and watching myself, lol!
That was so cool, Lana. It’s always weird to hear someone else read your work, their interpretation, inflection, pauses/stops, etc. But it gives you an idea of if or how well you got your message across to the reader. Personally, I loved it and might try it with one of my poems. π
It was definitely all that, Joan. I did kinda like it. I thought it would be a great site for others to check out. Be sure and let me know if you try it π
Your words sounded great!
Thank you! It was quite an experience listening to someone else’s interpretation π
Good one! βΊβΊ
Thank you so much!
