Never…

Never wage war with a poet
she will mire you in
collective nouns
a scourge of spiders
scampering about
alliteration of anger
cacophony of screams
She will bestow upon you
a symphony of sorrows
slap you into a place
where mean girls cry
she can be
a slicer of souls
one mad bender of plots
slayer of sinners
there will be no escape
nowhere to hide
you may become
a vigilante hermit
She’s a warrior of wisdom
memorizing every move
manic chess player master
one sad state
to take her for granted
She will make a demon
personified in Hades
rather…
do embrace the high road
flee those similes of sadness
the echoes of disaster
Never wage war with a poet
haven’t you learned a thing?
I hear your pitiful screams…
