Day One of Three Quotes Challenge

3 DAYS, 3 QUOTES CHALLENGE:

Hello everyone. I’ve been nominated for the 3 days 3 quotes challenge by: Hand Crafted Creativity .
Thanks so much for nominating me.

The rules are:

  1. Acknowledge the blogger who nominated you.
  2. Post 3 quotes on 3 consecutive days.
  3. Nominate 3 new bloggers everyday.

So without further ado, I will get right to quoting no one other than Anne Rice.
And books, they offer one hope — that a whole universe might open up from between the covers,  and falling into that universe, one is saved.”
Anne Rice, Blackwood Farm
Well as coolness goes, especially dark coolness, you’ve got to hand it to Ms. Rice who knows the value of reading. Actually she has much to say on many topics, and I frequently read her words of wisdom. So regarding this quote, I don’t have much to add to it about the value of books or where I would be if I could not have lost myself in many volumes of books. My main regret as an educator is the fact that many young people do not tend to read at all, much less as a leisure activity. I spend a lot of time encouraging them and attempting to interest students in literature. Hopefully this problem will reverse itself in the future.
I would like to also invite you to visit Handcrafted Creativity’s blog to read some truly wonderful hand crafted poems. I will not nominate three particular bloggers, but I would instead prefer to leave this open to anyone who follows my blog or reads the post to take up the quote challenge and remember to leave me a link in the comments section if you do so that I can read them. Next time when I’m not so far behind, I will try to be more interesting in writing about the quote. Happy quoting!

  1. Your writing about the quote was just fine! What happened to young people reading just for fun? Let us hope that more do than we know about. Nice way to handle a nomination!

  2. Thanks Garvin for handle a nomination and I’m so glad you made your attempt to this challenge. And thank you 😊 so much to acknowledge other bloggers about my poems.😊

  3. Awesome quote. I haven’t heard that one, but that’s exactly what reading is like for me. That’s certainly my experience with Rice. 🙂

  4. That’s a fantastic quote; writing about the reading experience so eloquently and I often feel the same – at the end of a hard day reading is my saviour, my moments of comfort, joy and cosiness!! 😀
