I live
to seek the quiet corners
beyond the impact
and milling
of the masses
the yell and chaotic thunder
vanishes on the cusp
in time’s alcove
moments stolen
inside a less than perfect
day
shedding the gravity
of desolation
breathing slowly
the divine sanction
of solitude
Ooooh, did you you write this for me? π I can relate anyway!! <3
Well yes, I did write it for you, Pauline π I think many folks on WordPress can relate to some solitude here and there. If I don’t get a little time to myself, I become quite contrary π
Ditto π
I too can relate to this. (And I love that song by Heart!) Thank you, Lana. π
Well thank you also, Betty, for your kind words. That Heart song is great, and I’m all into that video too, ha ha! Here’s to the quiet corners, happy writing, my friend!
Wonderful!
Thanks, Jennie!
You are welcome!
I love Pauline’s comment. This speaks to the introvert in me. Solitude is delightful and how I recharge. π Beautiful poem, Lana.
Thanks, Diana. I guess all of us writers are introvert-ish…. I find with all those students every day, I definitely need some quiet time. π
I bet you do. Teach requires intense energy. π
Love this one, Lana, and I can so relate. If I don’t get enough “Debbie time,” I turn into a grouchy bear!!
Nothing beats some peace and quiet and some of that Sleepytime tea that I’m finding I’m addicted too. I think it has done wonders for my insomnia. Here’s to quiet, toasty winter nights!
Oh, yes, I need my quiet corners too!
Yes, it is so good to recharge the spirit! π
Love the “stolen moments” in the “quiet corners” of “time’s alcove.” Solitude is a balm for many, including me. π
Thanks, Joan. I think many of us on WordPress are wired that way. After a day in an unruly classroom, I find a bit of quiet time is pretty much a necessity π
Oh yes Lana. We writers can definitely welcome those moments of solitude. π xx
Wow! Your poem with this song sums up many many of my days!! I feel all goosebumpy and teary now…god, how often I had this song blasting loud…curled up. When so many seemed happy in large groups i often sought solitude. Now I treasure my true real friends and let others play the numbers game. Moving post, Lana. β€οΈ
Thank you, Annika. I knew that many of my WordPress friends would totally get this. Some solitude and peace is indeed a good thing. xx
Hi Lana, another good post. It is good to make time for solitude. Like Diana said, to recharge and come out better, maybe doing something you couldn’t even think of. I think yes I do take time on my own at times, we all do. I just love your words. Great poem, short and simple to understand! Have a wonderful Sunday!
Yes, I agree that Diana summed it up well. A bit of solitude does refresh and recharge us. Have a wonderful, creative Sunday also, Juli! xx
Yes, we all need those quiet corners from time to time… Enchanting poem, Lana! Love and hugs! π
A few moments of solitude is necessary for me….my mental health, ha ha. Love and hugs to you, Sarah. xx
